I visited the battlefield a few years ago and there is an amazing feeling most get standing on that ground. It is a mixture of, pride, and sorrow. Pride of the men who gave their lives for what they believed, sorrow that they had to give their lives. I walked from Confederate Road where the Southerners started their attack on the last day of the battle, know as Pickett’s Charge. As I walked toward the Bloody Angel, that high point of the charge, I thought, what it must be like walking toward the Northerners on that hot July day. This writing is part of that feeling I got walking in the foot steps of those brave men, who walked into Glory, many years ago.
